This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to conduct an inspection of electric power generating plant and associated equipment.
Aninspectionis an organisedexamination of power generation plant and equipment exposed to conditions that can cause deterioration. Power generation plant and equipment should be inspected at regular intervals.
Competency in this unit requires the ability to inspect power generating plant, gain safe access to work area for inspection, conducting inspections and reporting and/or recording the results. Individuals will, in general, work under supervision, in a power generation facility as an operator.
Power generation plant operators are typically trained and authorised to isolate, prepare plant and issue permits to work.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
